If you cannot get the bto lottery, and want to buy a new flat, but donβt know which one to get, this series is for you.
We will be reviewing the recently MOP flats (>90yrs lease left), so you can decide which one you like.
First we cover Clementi Ridges.
Overview
- Recently MOPed, 94 years lease left
- 40 floors
- 4 rm 7th floor costs ~ $820k
Bus & MRT πππππ
It is 8 mins walk to Clementi MRT, not too bad. Going raffles place or bishan will take 30 and 40mins respectively. There are two bus stops, but they are pretty useless; you will always go take mrt.
Amenities πππππ
Absolutely nothing over here, except for a few vending machines. You will probably just order food & groceries daily, or make the 8mins trip to clementi mall. But it really sucks la, imagine when you are hungry, you know you probably need at least 30 mins to get your food, whichever time of the day, compared to having a coffeeshop downstairs where you can dabao easily yknow.
Scenery πππππ
Scenery is frankly awesome. Youβll most likely get unblocked views. Its extremely windy. You feel very much with nature, even though recently nearby got landslide. Oh ya, its sheltered all the way to your house too. Chio!
Investment πππππ
Recently MOPed, so you wonβt lose money la, but will you gain? Probably yes. Will you gain more than other houses? Maybe nah. No exciting things upcoming near that area, and thereβs alot of HDBs nearby, new and old, thatβs fighting with you.
Cost πππππ
$820k for 4 room, $900k for 5 room (7th floor). It IS expensive, but everybody always wants new house right, so this is the sucky price that you got to pay, not just for this, but for all the newly MOP flats as well.
Conclusion
I wonβt stay here la. I mean its not terrible, especially with the great scenery and quaintness in the area, which is hard to find. But its troubling that I cant get bah chor mee or my groceries nearby la, over time i think i will get more and more frustrated. But this is just personal preference.
