In-house is not always better than outsource, legit

Don’t fall for this sales trick, or make this assumption!

Watch our tiktok video on this if you lazy to read.

Many IDs or contractors differentiate themselves by telling homeowners that “their works are in-house, so they are better and cheaper than others who outsource”.

This is 100% untrue.

Being in-house or outsource does not mean their pricing will be cheaper, and that their works are better.

In-house = Better Workmanship —> False

When works like carpentry are outsourced, this means that they are passing the job to people who specialise in them.

Many of these workers have been doing this their whole life.

If you were to compare someone who has done the same work for 15 years against the in-house worker who has done it for 5 years, who will you trust more?

That’s why, this statement is not the blanket truth.

In-house = Cheaper —> False

There is a reason why many firms do not in-house all works. The overhead becomes very high.

In the event that they need to cover back the overheads, or if demand for them is very high, they can easily push the price to be higher than the market average.

We have seen in-house quotations that are way higher than those who sub the works out. Don’t believe for a moment that just because it is in-house, they will “lower their price” as their “cost is lower”.

In short, if they think they can price high, they will.

In-house = Better Control —> TRUE

You literally hire the worker. If the worker does not listen to you and appear at the job site on that day, he/she will be out of a job the next day.

This contrasts with subcontractors, who can choose to arrange their own schedule, or simply prioritise those that give more business than others.

In short, we share these unsaid truth, as we vow to drive transparency in this market. There are many sales gimmicks and sales tactics. Some are true, while others are exaggerated.
