This article presents the full list of safeguards for homeowners who looked for renovators through Deconstruct.
All safeguards are at zero charge, unless otherwise stated:
Pre-Reno
1. Reno Buddy / Telegram Channel (throughout)
Any questions or issues on reno, you have our whatsapp!
We’ll be here throughout your reno journey end-to-end
This is the most practical way of safeguarding you.

2. Quotation Review
Once you have shortlisted your top 2 or 3 firms, so we can keep the firms we referred in check as well!
This includes firms outside of our referrals! Just don’t bomb us with like 10 of them or something.
During-Reno (if you go with firms we referred - no obligations)
3. Deposit Guarantee (hopefully never used)
100% of homeowners’ deposit is protected - up to $50k (CASE equivalent).
For example, a $100k contract, with initial deposit of 20%, will have a protected coverage of $20k.
Homeowners are to notify Deconstruct within 7 days with proof of signed contract for validity
4. Site Visits
With homeowners’ concurrence - to ensure workmanship and progress.
Normally done twice - once after tiling works, and once after carpentry is installed.
Homeowners are to notify Deconstruct if they are keen too
Post-Reno (if you go with firms we referred)
5. Survey and/or In-Person Feedback
Honest survey feedback on your renovation experience
Each ID/contractor has a “2-strike” rule - one strike for each “failed” feedback. Upon “2-strike”, they are permanently banned from taking our homeowners.
We are very serious in fixing the grey renovation industry.
6. Mediation (hopefully not)
In events of dispute, we will be able to step in and mediate. Let’s hope it never ever reaches this stage.
