Alright guys, ever had a random thought like, “Uh, where does the water and gas in my house even come from?” I know, sounds kinda dumb, but seriously, have you ever thought about it?
Watch our tiktok channel if you lazy to read.
If you step outside your house for a sec, and you’ll probably spot this little area where your neighbours always shove their stuff. That’s the gas and water riser—the spot where all the magic starts. Go on, open it up, and you’ll see two main pipes inside!
We’ve got the white pipe, connected to a blue box—that’s the gas line. Right next to it, there’s a steel pipe that’s a bit thicker, and that’s the water line. Pay attention to that difference in size, because it actually matters later.
So, how do we know where our gas and water come from? Let’s start by following those two pipes making their way inside the house.
When you are inside the house, you’ll notice the pipes are all boxed up, keeping everything tidy, and then there’s a DB box sitting right next to it.
From here, if we keep following along, we’ll end up in the kitchen. And guess who’s back? Those two pipes pop up again here, doing their thing.
It’s kinda wild to think about all the stuff going on behind the walls, right? Now that you know how those pipes make their way through your house, the next time you turn on the faucet or fire up the stove, you’ll have that insider scoop on what’s happening behind the scenes.
If you want to learn more about your gas and water pipes, hang tight for part 2 because we’re gonna explore how the water pipes are run throughout the whole house!
